When it comes to Las Vegas, the hotel industry always looks for ways to upgrade certain needs to accommodate their guests. Currently the center of the Las Vegas strip is on a major makeover, from which hotels such as Osheas is now the Quad, while Bills (where Drais nightclub was at, now inside Ballys) is under renovation and will re-open Spring 2014.
Just recently I booked a room for Halloween 2013 at the Ballys, one of my destinations when I'm on a mini-vaca from SD to the 702. To my surprise, I find out a new upgrade in Ballys that I haven't seen in awhile, the Jubilee Tower (formerly South Tower). On the center of the strip off Flamingo and LV Blvd, the 756 rooms in the south tower will have a luxurious makeover that sits well, considering each standard room is 430-450 square feet. That's 1.5x the size of a standard room. A typical standard suite like the Cosmopolitan, or the Venetian towers averages 550-600 sq ft. The upgrade of the Jubilee Tower (which comes with dark wood furnishing, refrigerator, 37in flat screen tv, and redesigned bathrooms with glass enclosed showers) will best suit guests who are in for valued rates that come with staying at the center of LasVegas Blvd. These rooms are comparable to those of the Mirage, Flamingos Go Room, and the Palms.
So while you decide to chill in Las Vegas on a major getaway from your home destination, make Ballys one of your stays, especially booking a room at the Jubilee Tower. Its a good place to watch football as well (downstairs at the sports gaming lounge).
