BALLYS SOUTH TOWER TO BE RENAMED "JUBILEE TOWER"

When it comes to Las Vegas, the hotel industry always looks for ways to upgrade certain needs to accommodate their guests. Currently the center of the Las Vegas strip is on a major makeover, from which  hotels such as Osheas is now the Quad, while Bills (where Drais nightclub was at, now inside Ballys) is under renovation and will re-open Spring 2014.

Just recently I booked a room for Halloween 2013 at the Ballys, one of my destinations when I'm on a mini-vaca from SD to the 702. To my surprise, I find out a new upgrade in Ballys that I haven't seen in awhile, the Jubilee Tower (formerly South Tower). On the center of the strip off Flamingo and LV Blvd, the 756 rooms in the south tower will have a luxurious makeover that sits well, considering each standard room is 430-450 square feet. That's 1.5x the size of a standard room. A typical standard suite like the Cosmopolitan, or the Venetian towers averages 550-600 sq ft. The upgrade of the Jubilee Tower (which comes with dark wood furnishing, refrigerator, 37in flat screen tv, and redesigned bathrooms with glass enclosed showers) will best suit guests who are in for valued rates that come with staying at the center of LasVegas Blvd. These rooms are comparable to those of the Mirage, Flamingos Go Room, and the Palms.

So while you decide to chill in Las Vegas on a major getaway from your home destination, make Ballys  one of your stays, especially booking a room at the Jubilee Tower. Its a good place to watch football as well (downstairs at the sports gaming lounge).

WATER IS SOOO GOOD IN VEGAS...

Aug 5, 2013 (1128pm)

After we left Wet Republic (at MGM) through the humid dry Las Vegas weather, my body felt so beat up from the heat and the pool party that I was craving anything that was drinkable. I was soo dehydrated that all I wanted was water.  As we took the taxi to Planet Hollywood we went straight to  Lobster Me for a quick 430pm meal. During the order I told them I would also like a bottled water.

Once I sat down with the girls, I popped the blue top open, and gulped away. Gulp for gulp the thirst quenched the body, the liquid was soothing the soul, and the taste was soo amazing that it felt like I drank my favorite soda. Once I dropped the empty bottle I told Sheila who sat next to me "MAN, THAT WAS THE BEST WATER I TASTED IN A LONG TIME."

Sheila busted up laughing because of the comment I made. I know water doesn't have a taste, but once you experience walking the 95-105 degree dry scorching heat in Las Vegas, a bottle water will be your true best friend.

THE YANKEES ARE IN SAN DIEGO

Aug 2, 2013 This weekend, the New York Yankees come to town to face the San Diego Padres. When the Boston Red Sox came to town, there was a sea of Boston Red that filtrated the Gaslamp District. Expect the same with the Yankees and New Yorkers, being their first time here at Petco Park. Should any of the New Yorkers ask me, why does the clubs close so early here in San Diego? I'll simply tell them, "We're the city that Always sleeps!" And to the New Yorkers, enjoy your stay here at the Gaslamp. EMCEE619

COMPARISON OF HIGH HEELS AND JENGA

(1050pm Wednesday July 31, 2013)

The post above is basically about two items: high heels and Jenga. Both words have similarities that play a role when the ladies rock high heels in the club. Let me explain by briefly describing both, beginning with Jenga:

Jenga is a mental game in which players take turns moving block from the tower, while piling it up high to create a taller structure  as the game progresses. In the beginning, the blocks are neat, the levels are created nice and tight. As the game progresses the tower slowly goes through the "bend-but-don't-break" stage. The game ends when the tower falls, thus creating a mess.

High Heels:   In the clubbing scene, most ladies LOVE..I mean LOVE to rock high heels? Why is that? It's because of the words that describe high heels: sexy, classy, contemporary, independent woman, you name it! Basically it gives that sexiness to the lady especially when they combine it with their dress to start the night. But..wait-a-minute!!! Forward three hours later, once a club ends...and what have I noticed from some of the ladies rocking high heels while drunk? Ladies walking on a imaginary tight rope, hoping not to fall (and holding in their gut of not taking off their heels walking barefoot).

So how does Jenga relate to high heels in a clubbing experience? A couple weeks ago I took a group to their second outing with ClubCrawl to Block 16 (they came in from Irvine). One of the securities called out one of the girls from the line and told her to walk a straight line......FAILED......so as 10 of the group of 14 were in the club, the other 3 decided to wait it out and cater to their drunk friend. So what did I end up doing as the night host? I told them to come with me to the Altitude to at least show them a good time before heading on to Hard Rock..As we approached the entrance of the Altitude (located inside the Marriott Hotel that overlooks San Diego bayfront), the same lady that didn't make it inside Block 16, kinda tumbled in front of the security. I for some reason tried to play it off, making the security think that she tripped. Once security did an ID check on her, they both stood for a good 5 seconds, by 6...7..8..she tumbled hard with her high heels on, and that was it for the group...JENGA!

Which individual has the BEST LOOKING photo-bomb facial, should they be seen at the back of a group photo:

Welcome guests from Torrance, Germany, Washington DC, and San Francisco

(1046am....July 28, 2013 @ Sbucks)

Last nights showing for ClubCrawl was pretty much a diverse crowd. A group of ladies came down from San Francisco for a bachelorette party, a couple spent their romantic getaway coming from Torrance CA, two friends who stayed at one of the hostels  came all the way from Germany, and a buddy from Washington DC came down to cater his brothers bachelor party.

One of the groups that came down from San Francisco had a great time spending the bachelorette party here in San Diego. Typically there are those who would consider Las Vegas as the epi-center for big celebrations, but San Diego can be just as classy, if not better (especially with the weather and fine dining that San Diego has to offer). Last nights lineup was Stingaree, Block16 and onto Hard Rock 207 & Float. The girls liked the firepit and the aerial view of SD's skyline at Floats ultra lounge located inside the Hard Rock. I mentioned that this is where they have Sundays pool party, Intervention. However, their flight left early this morning, back to the Bay area

A friend of mine texted me yesterday and mentioned that his buddy from UCI came down for a romantic getaway to San Diego. Their first time in the Gaslamp, I was fortunate to cater to them and gave them brief information about San Diego, such as restaurants and the nightlife. Their first stop was Pacific Beach and La Jolla, dinner, and made the Gaslamp and ClubCrawl San Diego, their last stop. When we met at Quality Social I it was like we were buddies since he asked me how I knew Eddie, his roommate from UCI. I told him we were friends from high school days. From there I told them that all the clubs were on 5th Avenue and that is basically the heart of the Gaslamp District. During the club outing I wondered if they were having fun, but when I caught a glimpse of them dancing that's when I was like "They good!" Before they left Hard Rock they thanked me for having a good time and told them don't hesitate to ever call me up when they are here in the 619.

The buddies from Germany spent their first time here in San Diego and made sure this wasn't their last time in Americas Finest City. While at Block 16, I took them up on stage and jammed with them. Sometimes when I see folks standing around, it gives me a sense that they are bummed and bored. My reaction is to flip that frown upside down and just dance! haha...and WALA!!! it works. From that moment on, all was good for the friends from Germany.

Lastly a good friend of mine that I knew during our hip hop dance team days came down from Washington DC to cater to his brothers bachelor party, being the best man of the group. Thinking that the group wont make it with ClubCrawl SD (since they were drinking at J6 (at the rooftop for Hotel Salomar), they finally touched base at Stingaree. It was a good night with the group of friends celebrating his brothers bachelor party.

Well...my night ended on a good note....a trip to Las Parillas for some bomb shredded beef enchilada....

Arnold and Jacobs Club Crawl Experience

July 27, 2013 (923am....@ Starbucks)

It was another eventful night at the Gaslamp yesterday here in San Diego. Before heading out to my friends birthday party at Taste and Thirst, I decided to stop by Quality Social last night to meet with the Club Crawl staff just to say hi and hop along with them to the Bassmnt. There was a big group with us as usual, about 100-115 that we catered to as hosts. Around 10pm I got a text from my friend Arnold asking where I was at. I told him and Jacob to meet me at Quality Social so they can hop along with me before we head to Michelles birthday.

As we arrived the Bassmnt I met up with Arnold and Jacob. Its been a long time since all three of us been out as the three amigos. It was also great to see Arnold out again, who recently just got into a divorce and divides custody time with his daughter. Sometimes I wish they implemented a child night care center near the clubs called "The Baby Sitters Club," but that may no work out to some extend because of all the regulations. Imagine though, lets say I ask Arnold:

EmCee619: Yo Arnold! HOw did you manage to get out of the house? Don't you have your kid on Friday and Saturday night?

Arnold: Yah bro, but guess what?! I took them to the Baby Sitters Club.

....Aww yah! the BSC. Unfortunately that would be too much bad publicity.

So as I took Arnold and Jacob along on a clubcrawl trip, they were pretty much in AWE of the hot talent that all three clubs had, making San Diego classy. Joe was surprised that most clubs upgraded now, prior to how they looked back in the mid 2000s (the peak of our clubbing days when we were like 24-26 year olds). The clubs mostly have big LED screen, top notch lazer-light shows along with hot go-go dancers that makes you feel your like in Las Vegas.  Back then clubs were mostly a kick it spot for stagnant groups coming in that were catered to a promotions crew and their own DJ. Now major events company and promotions group have taken over the nightlife scene to cater to the $$$$ that can be made for the club owner and the group. Making it a smart business move.

The first club was pretty cool since the Bassmnt has two different floors, the main room caters more to EDM fans, while the chill room near the bar caters to hip-hoppers. Club Fluxx, the second club, had a Arcade theme for this month. The go-go girls were dressed in character (ala Mario and Luigi from Super Mario Bros, Chun Li from Street Fighter, etc), and while the go-gos were twerking, the live drummer kept drummin to the mixes played. It was a  highly euphoric visual since you had everything goin on at the same time. While in Fluxx, I saw Eddie and Melody, two friends who I haven't seen in awhile. They were partyin with their exclusive group and was able to converse with them while passing by, partyin with the girls in the club.  The third club, Stingaree, was more a social scene than it would be for a person that wants to club. More bottle service tables here, and an upper decker that fits more of an ultra lounge. Something similar to the Ghost Bar at the Palms, or the Mix Ultra Lounge at Mandalay Bay.

While at Stingaree Jacob and I were observing an individual who was basically jamming the whole night right in front of the DJ, zoned in as if no one else matter. Didn't talk to anyone, swaying back and forth like the DJ beats were his drug, on a natural high. Its as if he was Raj from Big Bang theory. Jacob was the one who told me to look at the guy in the red. Once we saw him jammin Joe mentioned 'He's getting his moneys worth'

Haha....he definitely was alright!

As the night ended , Virginia (one of the coworkers for ClubCrawl) and I were outside people watching the individuals that came out of the club. This one chick in heels came out with her boyfriend. As she stepped outside the club, she took off her heels and straight walked Gaslamp by foot. Virginia then mentioned to my ear ' Oh hell nah, that girl aint wearing stockings walking barefoot! Stockings so 80s!'

When she mentioned that I did a double take and I was pretty much bustin up. I was like "Holla to the stockings!"   Maybe its her style, but I guess most ladies rather show legs or even go "commando" nowadays.

Leaving the clubcrawlin experience, Arnold thanked me for taking him out. Eventually he definitely needed it, and Im always there for my friends as well as for anyone else who is down to hang out. During the outing we also went to Michelles birthday for a bit to say our his, and eventually ended the night at Funky Garcia where my friend, Mr. C-Lo Rico, deejays at. Ate some adobada  and pollo asado tacos, then called it a night around 2am....

1012am.
